Every month we read the best book as chosen by our members. We then meet and discuss them. If the book we chose has been made in to a movie or a play, then we might schedule an additional meetup event. If you are fond of reading and would enjoy discussing books like Three Cups of Tea, The Help, and The Art of Racing in the Rain, we would love to have you as a member of our group.
If you like to read and discuss books, this is the place for you! In the group, you'll meet kindred book lovers who come together to discuss a variety of topics. We mainly read non-fiction books - history, politics, religion, current events and economics. Every couple of months we read a book of fiction to keep us well-rounded. Our discussions are a way to explore the concepts and facts presented by our reading. It's a wonderful way to learn, share and keep our brains active. Come join us!

This group is for women who want to become better fiction writers. If you have a novel you are working on and would like to improve it, this is the place to get excellent feedback. This is not a drop-in critique group where you read whatever you have written to a bunch of strangers. It is for serious writers. The goal of this meet-up is to create an ongoing group of women writers that offer support and constructive suggestions regarding plot, dialogue, and character development. This is not a …

We are a group of book lovers that meet once a month to discuss.....books. We like to read books from all genres, though usually fiction, we have thrown in a non-fiction a time or two. During the monthly meetups, we choose the next book. Actually, we tend to stay 2 months in advance so everyone has a chance to get the book from the library if they want. How we choose books is a little different too. We don't really discuss the book before reading it. Someone at the meeting suggests a book they w …

We moved from the Mercer Island Non-fiction books club - same group - different meetup account. Margalit is the organizer for this meetup (Sally owns the account). This is a forum for discussing books on contemporary issues. The books chosen will generally be books that received at least some decent reviews in the mainstream press (e.g. The New York Times). Location: Mercer Island (usually Mercer Island Public Library or Starbuck downtown). We meet roughly every two months. Books we discussed at …

I am interested in starting a book club in the Ellensburg area to meet new people, step away from the TV, and get back to one of my first loves, reading fiction. I'm thinking we meet every couple weeks for coffee and share a story. At the moment I am reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. Let me know if you are interested.
Women in Words is a group that shares their writing in hopes of receiving helpful advice on how best to improve. We will bring our writing to each meeting, read them to each other and then receive some great advice on how to hone our writing to target our audience. Women in Words welcomes any level of writer who has an interest in improving her writing skills. There will be light refreshments and coffee/tea available.
